Sandra is the Director of Strategic Initiatives for the Region of Durham. Under Sandra’s leadership, her team is responsible for the RegionalStrategic Plan and organizational performance, environmental sustainability and climate action, key policy files, government and community relations, and innovation and research. Her speaking engagements have included talks on diversity, equity and inclusion, managing in a remote work environment, and intelligent communities.

With a background in partnership development and relationship management, Sandra previously held roles in the federal and provincial governments. She spent nearly a decade at the Province of Ontario in Cabinet Office – Intergovernmental Affairs and the Ministry of Finance where she provided senior policy and communications expertise on a variety of inter-jurisdictional projects. Prior to her work in government, Sandra was the Associate Vice President of a Canadian public opinion research firm.

She and her husband Jamie are proud Durham Region residents raising three strong-willed children. In her spare time, Sandra is an avid photographer and outdoor adventure enthusiast.
