Uzma has over 25 years of experience in equity and anti-racism issues. She has expertise ranging from advocacy, research & education, public speaking, community organizing, developing equity based public policy. She has worked in the NGO sector, academia and the municipal sector. She has served as the:

• Executive Director: Council of Agencies Serving South Asians
• Adjunct Professor: Department of Geography and Program in Planning, University of Toronto
Uzma has a Non-Profit Management and Leadership Certificate from Schulich School of Business/Maytree Foundation, York University; Masters of Law and Diplomacy from The Fletcher School, Tufts University, USA; a BA Honors degree from Sussex University, UK; and a BA degree from Karachi University, Pakistan
